The Fight To End Sexual Violence On Every Street In Indonesia | Season 4 Episode 5

Two years ago, an Indonesian woman was handed a six-month jail term after reporting evidence against her harasser, highlighting how women in the world’s most populous Muslim-majority nation struggles with legal recourse when sexually harassed. Indonesia, a country ranked the most dangerous for women to live in across Southeast Asia, sees an average of three to 400,000 sexual violence cases reported each year. Singaporean Embraces Plus Size Body | Body Positivity & Body Neutrality

Mary Victor shares her self love journey with self-acceptance through body positivity and body neutrality. What are the pressures and challenges being plus size in Singapore? Do you wish for a different body? What does body neutrality and body positivity mean? Mary Victor from Singapore resented her plus-size body and was constantly pressured to lose weight and be skinny. She resorted to unhealthy eating habits and diets to lose weight with little successes. Now a plus size model, singer, and make-up artist, she firmly believes in self-acceptance and happiness through body neutrality and body positivity practices. After learning of others who also struggle with their body image, Mary Victor founded #thebodywithin, a body neutrality movement in Singapore. Mary Victor now advocates for a diverse representation of bodies in Singapore. 00:00 Intro 00:20 Being young & plus size 00:32 Pressure & challenges to lose weight 01:03 Being plus size in Singapore 01:50 Journey to self love & self acceptance 02:20 Healthy practices to self love 02:43 What is body neutrality? 03:29 #thebodywithin, a Singaporean body neutrality movement ABOUT US The Asian Woman educates, engages and empowers Asian women through meaningful conversations and real life stories.
